The swinging and circling of the hoop: Athletes can use one hand or both hands, with a regular or reverse grip, to swing the hoop in different planes and directions. These movements require the shoulder to act as the axis, completing the actions through the bending and extending of the arms and the rotation of the wrists, while maintaining the stability of the hoop's plane and a consistent speed.
Rotating the hoop: Rotating the hoop refers to the action of rotating around the central axis that passes through the center of the hoop. It can be performed in different directions on the front, side, and horizontal planes. When rotating the hoop, the arms should remain naturally extended, using the strength of the wrists to rotate with the hoop's inertia, avoiding the use of the entire upper arm for force.
Flipping the hoop: Flipping the hoop refers to the action of flipping around an axis parallel to the diameter of the hoop. This type of movement is usually completed after the hoop leaves the hand, requiring the athlete to use the strength of the wrists and fingers to maintain the balance and stability of the flip. Both two-handed and one-handed flips of the hoop are common flipping actions.
